Abstract

The present study addresses the formal variations that Breton de los Herreros carries out in the recasting of the Alarconian comedy Las paredes oyen. The urban comedy of characters by Ruiz de Alarcón interested the playwright from La Rioja for his possibilities of practical moralism in a frame of love plot. Breton’s rewrite is analyzed in its formal variants. The initial comparison of both structures leads to the analysis of those differences concerning the plot.
