Abstract

Nowadays, a multitude of resources are available to enrich teaching, and “audience response tools” are very valuable because of the direct interaction between teacher and student, as well as providing fast and direct results. The main objectives were to dynamize Biochemistry classes and to encourage student participation and motivation. The Vevox and Nearpod platforms were used, which are very attractive for carrying out various activities in class. These platforms allow anonymous participation in real time, and the presence allows individual feedback from the teacher, which is a determining factor. Student participation in these activities was 100% and the Nearpod platform was perceived as the easiest to use by 60% of the students. The improvement of learning with these tools is valued with the highest score and it is recommended to carry out these activities once a week. The students describe the classes as dynamic and attractive, feeling motivated to participate in the class. The results obtained have been very satisfactory for both students and teachers and it has been possible to improve motivation, participation in class and therefore student learning. Undoubtedly, this change, appreciated and valued by the students, will be implemented in the subject in subsequent courses.
