Abstract

In analysing the situation and prospects of the Spanish agriculture sector, a quite complete look is taken at our agriculture and livestock productions, providing the most relevant points and broad figures, as well as the evolution of final agricultural production and its weight in the GDP. Particular emphasis is placed on those sectors with the most uncertain futures, such as cow’s milk, lamb and goat’s meat, as well as others that hold leadership and extremely relevant international positions in terms of volume and export figures, such as olive oil, wine and pork. The latter are the object of a more in-depth reflection on their situation in the internal and external markets and on the best way to handle the multiple vicissitudes that appear. Due to their topicality, the wine and cow’s milk sectors are given special prominence, setting out the lines of action that would contribute to resolving the deep structural problems affecting them.
