Jaime Gómez is a Full Professor of Strategic Management at the University of La Rioja, Spain. He holds a PhD (with an Extraordinary Doctorate Award) and a degree in Economics and Business Administration from the University of Zaragoza, where he was an FPU research fellow, assistant lecturer, and associate professor between 1997 and 2010. His main areas of specialisation are business strategy, innovation, and the adoption of new technologies. He has published academic articles on topics such as multimarket competition, first-mover advantages, and the diffusion of technology in firms. His current research focuses on understanding the effect of corporate ESG investments on firm market value and the implications of artificial intelligence adoption for strategic decision-making. His research has received uninterrupted funding from the Spanish National R&D Plan since 1997. He has published in *The Strategic Management Journal*, *The Journal of Economics and Management Strategy*, *Research Policy*, *Environment and Planning A*, *Omega*, *Information Systems Research*, *Management Information Systems Quarterly*, *Journal of Management Information Systems*, *Industrial and Corporate Change*, *Strategic Organization*, and *Long Range Planning*, among other journals. Up to thirteen of these articles have been published in journals included in the Financial Times' list of the top 50 academic journals in business and economics (FT50). He has been a visiting professor at the universities of Cambridge (3 months), Nottingham (final year of undergraduate studies and 1 month during his doctoral studies), London (1 month), and Warwick (3 visits totalling 15 months, one of which was funded by the Fundación CajaMadrid – Overseas Scholarship Programme), all in the United Kingdom. He has also undertaken two short stays (2 weeks each) at the Real Colegio Complutense at Harvard University. He has served as an Expert for the Directorate-General for Programmes and Knowledge Transfer in the evaluation of projects under the Spanish National R&D Plan (2009–2010, 2012–2016, 2021, 2022) in the field of Economics, and has been a member of the Evaluation Committee for the Ramón y Cajal and Juan de la Cierva Programmes (2012, 2013). He has also acted as an evaluator for ANEP (2007–2009; 2013–2016, 2018), the Andalusian Evaluation Agency (2011, 2012), Unibasq (2014), the Agency of Castilla y León (2016–2017), the National Science Centre Poland (2020, 2021, 2025), the La Caixa INPhINIT PhD Scholarship Programme (2019, 2021), and as an expert advisor to Committee 8 of the CNEAI (2020, 2021, 2022).
