EUSOT (Erosion, Land Use and Spatial Planning) is a consolidated research group at the University of La Rioja, established in 2006 and composed of researchers from the field of Geography. The research lines addressed by EUSOT are related to the study of the environmental consequences—particularly hydrological, geomorphological, and soil-related—resulting from land use and land cover.

EUSOT manages the Cátedra of Landscape, Biodiversity and Water Resources, funded by the Government of La Rioja. The Cátedra focuses on two main areas of study: a) natural and humanized landscapes, understood as the result of complex natural, social, and historical processes; b) water resources, emphasizing the present and future importance of water not only for ecosystem conservation, but also for economic development and human well-being within the current context of climate change.
