Doctor by the Universidad de Zaragoza with the thesis Las sequías hidrológicas en la Península Ibérica Análisis y caracterización espacio temporal, influencias climáticas y el efecto de la gestión hidrológica en un contexto de cambio global 2012. Supervised by Dr. Sergio Martín Vicente Serrano, Dr. José Carlos González Hidalgo.
Graduated in Geography from the University of Zaragoza (2008), Master’s in Geographic Information Systems and Remote Sensing (University of Zaragoza, 2010), and PhD from the University of Zaragoza with honors (2012). Awarded the Social Council Award of the University of La Rioja in the category of Emerging Young Researchers (2023). As a professor, I have taught approximately 2,000 hours of classes in undergraduate, graduate, and master’s programs at the University of Zaragoza, the University of the Balearic Islands, and the University of La Rioja. I have co-supervised one doctoral thesis (another currently in progress) and supervised more than twenty academic projects (bachelor's and master’s theses), one of which was a finalist in the 2017 Arquímedes University Competition and winner of the first prize in the Agenda 2030 for Social Transformation and Sustainable Development at the University of the Balearic Islands. My research career has focused on the interactions between climate and hydrological processes, assessing the influence of climate variability on water resource availability, with particular emphasis on extreme events such as droughts and floods. I have actively collaborated on related research lines, such as the hydrological impacts of atmospheric circulation patterns, the hydroclimatology of mountain areas, and the development and testing of various climatic and hydrological drought indices.
