Abstract
Several studies have supported the effectiveness of student-generated questions as a learning method. However, experiments are usually reduced to a few hours. We believe that its real usefulness and limitations need to be clarified, especially if it is to be extended to an entire course. The method admits multiple variations both in the type of question and in the generation cycle, which can be individual, collaborative, with or without instructor contribution, etc. In this paper we present a specific generation cycle and three ways of applying it. The findings show significant improvements in the results of the exam tests and significant differences in the scores of students who anticipate the final exam test in parts. Students have a neutral opinion of the method and a very positive opinion of having the test ahead of time and also of having forms with questions to study.
