Abstract

The purpose of this text is to reflect on the subjectivities that shape the experience of spatial injustice based on the unequal distribution of endowments and resources in the urban space of Granada (Spain). My intention is to show how in Almanjáyar, one of the seven neighborhoods of the Northern District of this city, converge different forces that define this urban enclave as a periphery produced from the ineffectiveness of public housing and local development po-licies. To this end, I will present the results of an ethnogra-phic research that conceives anthropology as a reflexive and feminist act. From this epistemological approach, I intend to take up the emotions that Almanjáyar arouses in its neigh-bors to reconstruct the history of the neighborhood and the way in which its inequalities are far from being solely the result of social class fractures. I will thus insist on the need to incorporate the contributions of feminist geography and geography of emotions to reveal the subjectivities that the women of the neighborhood have forged while their right to the city is violated.
