Resumen

This paper focuses on studying the acceptance of robotictechnology in Jordan, in the educational sector in particular, and ina Jordanian University context, utilising technology acceptancemodels, which has been used in studying robot’s acceptance. Thereare a wide range of studies on the acceptance and usage of robotictechnology in different fields. However, there is a lack of studiesthat focus on the acceptance of robot technology across theeducational sector. This research aims to explore and analyse themain factors affecting the acceptance of such technologies in theeducational sector, especially among university students. Theresearch used qualitative semi-structured interviews. The resultsshow the potential impact of the Effort Expectancy, PerformanceExpectancy, Social Influence and Facilitating Conditions on theIntention Behaviour toward using the Robots as and Academicadvisor. In addition to the impact of an emergent dimension“Emotions” on the Intention Behavior, directly and indirectlythrough Performance and Effort Expectancies. In general, thesocial characteristics of robots should be considered whileinvestigating the acceptance of them, especially when used associal entities in human environment.
