Abstract

Pseudosciences can be a danger to health and are also a reflection of the knowledge acquired as well as the critical think-ing of our society. For this reason, and due to the lack of previous studies, the objective was to determine the penetrationof pseudosciences and various scientific hoaxes. A survey was created and distributed to Secondary Education centersin La Rioja. A high percentage (42.9%) of acceptance / doubt of the pseudosciences / scientific hoaxes analyzed wasobserved. Secondary school students of 3rd year were the ones who showed the least acceptance / doubt (33.3%). Dif-ferences in acceptance were found according to the type of pseudoscience / scientific hoax analyzed. These results showthat, in order to avoid these beliefs, it is necessary to modify the way of teaching the scientific method.
