Abstract

Thais resecar aims to describe the socialeducational care of the Deaf People in Burgos. It is a historiographical work from a descriptive perspective where social life of deaf people it�s exposed and disclosed from the stage of public instruction, with its educational aspects and subsequent social life from within a deaf community. The most relevant moments of the process are mentioned: its construction and performance as a School of Deaf People and the constant effort of the political authorities in Burgos to maintain a permanent instruction center, for the first time, for the education of deaf people. Its first opening and most reowned period is studied (1868-1928), its decline (1929-1937) and subsequent closing (1961-1985) and a second reopening (1961-1985) that with the educational policies of integration and social inclusion. Analyzes the social and personal interest of the Deaf Association of Burgos, as a socialeducational community: period from 1950 to 2000.
