Resumen

Many Universities around the world have incorporated information and communication technologies (ICT) in their teaching and learning processes. New technologies can produce a revolutionary change in teaching methodologies and they are an important component of student-centered learning methodologies. One of the key aspects to understand the success of ICT is students' perception and intention to use ICT. Our purpose in this exploratory study is twofold. First, we analyze the perception of students regarding the usefulness of these tools. Second, we study the use of technological tools available to students. The results show that the perceived usefulness is higher for those technologies facilitating communication and requiring individual use than for ICTs facilitating students' coordination. Similar results are obtained when analyzing the use of those technologies.
