Resum

By reaction of NBu4[Au(C6Cl5)2] with TlPF6 in acetone the complex [Au2Tl2(C6Cl5)4]·(CH3)2C=O is obtained, which shows a butterfly type arrangement of metals through short Au(I)-Tl(I) and Tl(I)-Tl(I) interactions. The last one is likely to be responsible for its luminescence behavior. Copyright © 2002 American Chemical Society.
