Abstract

The evolution of scientific collaboration is analyzed based on a highly representative sample of Spanish researchers from all areas of knowledge and the publications in which they have participated. The study examines the number of authors listed in the published works between the years 1990 and 2022. Two types of results are offered: presenting the evolution in the number of authors participating in publications across twenty-five thematic disciplines and providing a percentage comparison of the evolution of co-authorships in five major thematic areas. Finally, options for possible future studies in this field are presented
