Abstract

In this paper we try to explain the physical and chemical relationships amongst the different variables that effect and interact in the purification process of shallow waters. The Lardero plant provides suitable for drinking water to the Logroño, Lardero and Villamediana de Iregua towns. This plant is feeded by the Iregua river whose waters have been qualified as A1 type in many of their parameters, in accordance with the law R.D. 927/1988. Thus, only a few treatments are necessary for reaching the quality of potable waters. Other parameters can only be considered of type A2, which redounds in a need for a physical and chemical treatment and a disinfection in order to destroy harmful microorganisms. The analyzed variables account different origins and have been registered simultaneously in different locations of the plant: the input, pouring, filtering and the output areas. The data set contains the 24 hour daily average corresponding to the recordings of the latest five years.
