A second-order closed-form semi-analytical solution of the main problem of theartificial satellite theory (J2 contribution) consistent with the Draper SemianalyticSatellite Theory (DSST) is presented in Delaunay variables. The shortperiodterms are removed using an extension of the Lie-Deprit method. The averagedequations of motion are given explicitly and transformed into the nonsingularequinoctial elements. Finally, the second-order terms in the equations ofmotion are included in the C/C++ version of the DSST orbit propagator.
