Resum

The electric energy still comes mostly from fossil fuel combustions and non-ecologicalsolutions. This article describes an alternative to the electric bicycle. It shows thedesign process of a suitable bicycle device, consisted of mechanical elements, following a retro or steampunk trend. Amusing the user, producing a stimulus directlyrelated to speed and physical effort, is the main objective of this project. The energystorage and discharge is activated by the user will. On one hand, once the userreaches an appropriate speed of his like, or whenever he desires so, the rider reversesthe pedal rotation, going backwards to store the energy. On the other hand, using alever mechanism, the rider will discharge the energy previously stored. The device isbased on the differential used in the drivetrain inside the automotive sector, as well ason the spring gears some toy cars carries within in order to store rotational energy. Thenew device modifies and combines these elements so that its effect suits the desirableobjectives.
