Résumé
As part of a research project that we are conducting into accidents in the constructionindustry in La Rioja, a number of comprehensive, rigorous surveys were carried outusing a preset structure to prevent interviewees from preparing politically correctanswers.This paper presents the main results in regard to safety in the construction industry inLa Rioja, with particular emphasis on design projects, health and safety studies andproject managers themselves.One of the most striking results is that project managers award the same rating totesting laboratories than to themselves in the sector as a whole, and than the projectsand health and safety studies that they conduct.They acknowledge that these documents must improve aspects such as the definitionof health and safety studies, definition of the stages of work, economic items and thedefinition in the design.Safety also needs excellent documents.
