Resumen

The incorporation of labour migration into the labour market poses major challenges for both the host state and the state of origin of the refugee and forced migrant. It is a global problem that requires international solutions. The International Labour Organization (ILO) and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) are leading the international protection of refugee rights and the promotion of social justice and labour rights for forced migrants. The Guiding Principles on Labour Market Access for Forced Migrants and ILO Recommendation 205 on Employment and Decent Work for Peace and Resilience provide the basis for a strategic model, which provides real protection for migrants in host states and upon return to countries of origin, in line with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 8 on decent work of the UN 2030 Agenda.
