Abstract

In this work, we introduce a long term project to im- plant Continuous Integration techniques and tools for managing and marking labs work of Object Oriented programming students. The goal of the project is two- fold: first, we aim at introducing the students in the ordinary use of tools that we find relevant in their field (Computer Science); second, we aim at helping the teachers to manage and mark the students work. Along the project we have identified and chosen dif- ferent tools (IDEs, code repositories, and continuous integration servers) that helped us in our work and also made more useful for the students their work (interes- tingly, we have introduced the tools without increasing their workload). We have also identified some shorta- ges of the proposed tools. Finally, we have found some fresh ideas and roads to improve the learning process for the students as well as to improve their techno- logical background. Along this work, we present our project, the students valuation of it, our particular as- sessment about its weaknesses and strengths, as well as some future work lines from the current situation.
