Abstract
This paper proposes a reflection on the current reality of economic and social inequality that can only be understood within the framework of discourses that have justified it as inevitable and even necessary. After an approach to these discourses through which the effects of a self-regulated market that transcend the economic are legitimized, we arrive at a model of social contract in which inequality and social insecurity that it entails have a political meaning and where we identify as central elements: the economic reason; precariousness; individualism; and a model of State obsessed with certain security
