Abstract

Mobbing is a complex social phenomenon that crosses age, ethnicity and national boundaries, tends to involve an aggressor, a victim, and other individuals in a variety of roles that can take the form of an active presence (aggressor assistant or victim defender ), a passive presence (spectator), or even a perceived presence (peer attitudes). Interestingly, these roles tend to be dynamic since it is not uncommon for an individual to adopt different roles from one situation to the next (Espelage and Swearer, 2003).For decades, psychological harassment researchers have not reached an agreement on the best tool to analyze their occurrence and the factors that give rise to their presence in work environments. The reality is that there is no single answer to the question of which tool should be used for the analysis of the incidence and factors of mobbing. The answer depends on each researcher and the expected results in his study.
