Resum

This work focuses on the power increase of a spark-ignited commercial engine fueled with hydrogen. The very low density of hydrogen leads to a reduced engine power per cylinder volume unit compared to other fuels, especially the conventional liquid ones. In order to overcome this drawback, in this work, two research lines have been developed. The first one includes the use as fuel of hydrogen-methane mixtures. The second line focuses on the analysis of abnormal combustion phenomena promoted by hydrogen due to its high chemical reactivity.
