Resum

The Liberal Triennium (1820-1823) became the first period of the application of liberal ideology in conjunction with the 1812 Constitution. In this context, the Spanish women did not resign themselves to being left aside despite their exclusion as full citizens, but rather reaffirmed their public participation through: the traditional sponsorship of salons and gatherings, in the new Patriotic Societies and in the journalistic-literary field. This paper aims to address the vision offered of women in the liberal press, the framework through which the political and social life of the country was structured, with special attention to those publications that refer to La Rioja. The aim is to make an approach to the image that spanish society had of women, beyond the contradictions presented by the different models defended by the liberals.
