Resumo

Music, and musical heritage in general, is a cultural manifestation of universal character with an undeniable geographical dimension. Music creation, regardless of the genre through which it is expressed, constitutes a field of human communication which interest for the geographer lies in the multiplicity of layers and levels in which that dimension involves other fields of culture and artistic production. In this context we propose through this communication, an approach to the study of the musical fact from a geographic perspective focusing on the analysis of the work: Viagens na minha terra (1953), by the Portuguese composer Fernando Lópes‐Graça (1906‐1994 ).A work we consider this work suitable for our exploration, because arises out of the fact that relates an important geographical dimension, the evocation of places and landscapes or the construction of the identity of the territories.
