Algunas precisiones acerca de las voces "matinada, maitinada"

Resumo

This paper aims at illustrating the use of the word matinada with the meaning of ‘gratification’ or ‘pious donation’ in certain mediaeval documents in La Rioja, and more precisely at the documents preserved in the cathedrals in Calahorra and Santo Domingo de la Calzada. This meaning has not been so far recorded in lexicographic catalogues, although it has been mentioned by some historians. Furthermore, the essay includes several examples of the variant maitinada, which has not been considered for the mediaeval period; this variant is the only one that has been found in the documents from Calahorra, maybe because of its eastern origin, related to the Spanish variants spoken in Navarre, Alagon and Southern La Rioja over the centuries.
