Abstract

Through this thesis we are going to enter into the knowledge of the families of settlers who arrived in the Sierra Morena from 1767, within the project of the Nuevas Poblaciones. We reconstructed their settlement until 1808, making known the vicissitudes that they experienced in the lands that were given to them by the monarch Carlos III. For this, we have compared the implementation of the theoretical ideas developed by Campomanes and Superintendent Olavide, we will study the development of the plot of lots through the case of the parishioners of Navas de Tolosa or we will delve into folklore, traditions, devotions, and the image they had of the Crown, analyzing the work of the Intendencia de Nuevas Poblaciones as an institution that controlled the lives of the families of colonists, not only the productive but also the social and private.
