Abstract

The distribution and location of 228 specimens belonging to the unique spontaneous population of hybrid wild grapevine (Vitis vinifera L.) existing in the valley of the Najerilla (La Rioja) has been studied. The geographical limits of this population are the meridians 518,857 and 520,532 and the parallels 4,680,450 and 4,682,018 (in coordinates UTM from 30N zone of the ED-50). Landscape characterization has been carried out for each one of these specimens. Their principal characteristics (tutor, sex, size, type of development, etc) has been compiled. Finally, risks and potential threats of the area and specially for the grapevine population have been assessed and discussed.
