Purpose: To find out most commonly used nursing diagnoses (NANDA) in drug and/or medical devices prescribing by nurses for primary care patients at the Area of Salamanca. To compare most commonly used nursing diagnoses (NANDA) with various variables, in order to find statistically significant relationships. Material and methods: A questionnaire based on the design of the study for a specific period of time was sent. Using a survey design, a descriptive cross-sectional study was carried out, by means of a specifically developed questionnaire that was validated by a group of experts. Main NANDA diagnoses leading to any autonomous nursing prescribing were recorded. Results: Impaired tissue integrity and impaired skin integrity diagnoses were particularly common. Such findings could be due to the fact that such conditions are commonly encountered in daily nursing practice, and nurses use drugs or medical devices for such diagnoses based on their own professional judgment. Conclusions: Based on the results of the study, we intend to provide new nursing knowledge. We have shown that nurse prescribing is a real fact and this will open new possibilities, advances, and innovations.
