Abstract
The current distribution and characterization of Riojan vineyard according to topographic climatic and edaphic factors are analyzed. The objective is to know their influence on the location of vine growing. GIS and multivariable statistical analysis were applied to achieve this purpose. Thus, it was obtained the mapping of vineyard surface-area according to the different factors. In addition, vineyard area was grouped into three models, which represent four homogeneous types of vineyard.
