Abstract

The traditional vision of a terrifying devil, used as exemple of absolute evil, and other ridiculous, created as a caricature of himself, arises in Los triunfos de San Miguel in the pair of characters of Luzbel and the devil Cojuelo. The play doesn t showed the problem as a doctrinal cuestion, because of the character of Cojuelo, a minor daemon with a primitive profile, humorous counterpoint of all seriousness. Luzbel’s assistant, puts a nice point to the various evil deeds in which his lord gets involved, being who causes that the weakest man’s emotions emerge, and manipulating them to commit the venial sins.
