Resum

A Rydberg atom is an oversize atom due to the fact that one or two of its electrons are excited to very high energy levels, far from the nuclear core. In this scenario, the electrons seem to orbit the nucleus like planets orbiting the sun. Thus, Rydberg atoms are suitable to be described by classical mechanics, as well as planets in the solar system. In this work a link between microscopic and macroscopic worlds is presented, through similar models, and interesting results are analyzed using qualitative methods of dynamical systems. These results have been achieved by the group of Nonlinear Dynamics at Universidad de La Rioja.
