Resumo

This article shows how Jean Froissart portrays in his Chroniques the relevance of the Jacobean pilgrimage routes in connection with the development of the dynastic wars of the Castilian throne which took place in the second half of the fourteenth century. These routes drew the interest of the French author because they became the stage of warlike and political events -movement of armies, battles, treaties, and ceremonies- of great significance for the international relations of the time. Their religious implications were not ignored by Froissart, but these remained in the background.
