The aim of this study is to establish the state of the question with regard to the methodological aspects of the research papers that are published in Spain on Business Economics.For this purpose we have reviewed 19 specialized nationwide journals in the last few years (1995-1998), from which we have obtained 1.557 articles on Business Economics subjects. We have analyzed the conceptual or empirical nature of every article and its demographic statistics. We have reviewed the empirical articles in particular depth to determine the features of the research, the information processing techniques applied, and the sources of information used. The results obtained reveal quite clearly the type of studies being carried out and published at the present time on business management. Of special interest is the distinction that has been made by areas of marketing knowledge and market research, financial economics and accounting, andbusiness organization.
