Abstract

The aim of this paper is to inform about the inscriptions of artists appeared during the development of the integral restoration of the church of the Monastery of San Millán de la Cogolla, in Yuso (La Rioja, Spain), conducted between 2005 and 2010, in this monument declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1997. For the first time, it is documented the intervention of Francisco Ortigosa sculptor (1574) in the set of 22 reliquary-busts of the chapel of relics; the Benedictine architect and designer Fra Esteban Cervera (1656) on the major altarpiece or painter Juan Carazo (last third of the eighteenth century) on a cancel of the transept, providing new ways of investigation of the history of sculpture of Mannerism and Baroque after the Council of Trent in Spain, and Rococo painting in La Rioja
