Abstract

The present work presents a comparison of efficiency of two organizational forms, the cooperative and capitalist society. In order to get this objective, the existing differences between both in terms of the property rights are established, as well as the implications of these distinguishing characteristics on the efficiency in the resources allocation. The results for a sample of cooperative and capitalist companies that belongs to the winery sector in the period 1997-2001 do not show statistically significant differences between both organizational forms
