Resumen
This research aims to analyze the musical problem of Spanish Romanticism in the second half of the XIX. Our intention is twofold: on the one hand, we rethink the vision of nineteenth-century Spain through the discourse of critics, writers and philosophers in their relationship with musical aesthetics, but also we establish the keys that can characterize this period (so convulsive from the point of political-social view), through the musical tour that Franz Liszt made in the Iberian Peninsula. Finally, we are interested in finding out the possible lisztian repercussion in five contemporary Hispanic composers: Pere Tintorer y Sagarra, José Félix Lubet y Albéniz, Marcial del Adalid y Gurrea, Guilherme Bell Daddi y José Vianna da Motta.
