Asociacionismo e inmigraciónla acción socioeducativa de las asociaciones africanas en Cataluña

Zusammenfassung

The evolution of migration in Spain has led, among other things, to the continuous growth of organizations and associations created by immigrants and which, in theory, represent them. This increase has taken place, on one hand, because the African immigrants have themselves taken an interest in the matter, and, on the other, because of the will of the administrations to have an interlocutor to whom to speak to. The different positions adopted by the various policies (state or autonomous) are also fundamental, since they determine the role of the associations of immigrants. This thesis, which has been based in the qualitative methodology and which is centered in the area of Catalonia, has immigration, the associations of African immigrants and, more specifically, the socio educational action that takes place in the associations as the object of study. The empirical work has included fifty-six interviews carried out to the presidents of the associations of immigrants as well as to the representatives of the various entities and the catalan administration who act as the interlocutors of the African associations.
