Resum

We have studied the testosterone and cortisol hormonal changes as well as the free and total testosterone levels in proportion with those of cortisol, in response to endurance training in athletism. Nine experienced athletes trained for a period of six months (September - March) as part of their winter season cross-country training. Three analytical and psychological controls were carried out at three different moments during this period: T1 September (base moment); T2 December (end of the adjustment period); T3 March (final preparation stage). The hormonal levels found at the three different stages of the program have been compared and contrasted as well as being studied against the volume and intensity of the training.
