Abstract

Let A be a Bernstein algebra. Taking r,s∈A, the authors change the multiplication of A in two ways: a×b=2(ar)b−2(bs)a−r(ab)+s(ba), a∗b=(ar)b−(bs)a, and call the new algebras mutations. They obtain conditions for the mutations to be Lie admissible, Jordan admissible or Bernstein algebras.
