Resumen

The purpose of this research is to improve the activity and study of mechanical engineering degree students using Active Learning Strategies. An active learning strategy is a type of learning-oriented approach to learners' creation and discussion of ideas, problem-solving and implementation of actions. This paper analyzes the data obtained on the subject of Environmental Engineering by comparing a theoretical class and using a model of a cyclone separator similar to that used in an industrial process to validate and experiment by various tests. The results enabled us to conclude that there are important improvements to the assimilation of knowledge with respect to the results obtained with the master class. Thus, students can obtain a real glimpse of the processes that are used at present in environmental engineering, and have a tool that will simplify their attainment of the course's learning objectives.
