Abstract

We analyze the semilocal convergence of a new class of fourth-order iterations under mild differentiability conditions, so that they can be applied to solve some non-linear integral equations of mixed Hammerstein type, whereas the same iterations cannot be applied to solve these equations if the usual convergence conditions for fourth-order iterations are required. © 2008 IMACS.
