1-Bromo-1-alkynes 1 react with bis(pyridine)iodine(1) tetrafluoroborate (2) and nucleophiles (AcOH, HCO2H, Cl-, Br-, I-) to give in a stereoselective addition 2-functionalized 1-bromo-1-iodo-1-alkenes 3.
