The zeros of orthogonal polynomials on the real line are simple, lie in the interior of the convex hull of the support of the measure and the zeros of consecutive orthogonal polynomials interlace. We study a large class of mixed type multiple orthogonal polynomials for which similar properties hold. © 2012 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
