Abstract

The reaction between [Pt(bzq)(μ-PPh2)]2 and cis-[Pt(C6F5)2(thf)2] (1:2 molar ratio) results in the formation of a bent benzoquinolate triplatinum cluster [Pt3(bzq)(μ-PPh2)2(C6F 5)3] 1, which has been characterized by X-ray crystallography. The structure shows the presence of μ2-PPh 2 and [μ3-PPh(1,2-η2-Ph)- κ3P] bridging ligands and two platinum-platinum bonds. © 2005 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
