Résumé

According to the situated learning theory, meaningful learning cannot be considered outside an authentic context in which it normally occurs. Thus, this work presents a virtual learning environment that seeks to improve the quality of teaching and learning processes in higher education in the field of project management. To achieve these goals, we have adopted a student-centered approach that is supported by the use of tools of information and communication technologies. The proposed environment integrates different open source tools, such as a project and portfolio management software or a course management system, as well as specifically designed and developed tools to support administration, monitoring and assessment. © 2018, Springer International Publishing AG.
