Resumen

This paper presents a model for optimal design of electric power distribution systems that allows to simulate suitable actions of Demand-Side Management (DSM), such as the Direct Load Control (DLC) and Electric Energy Storage (EES) actions. Thus, the model is useful to analyze technical and economical effects of such actions in the distribution networks design, in terms of the global economical costs and electric service quality. Such model has been intensively tested in Spanish power distribution systems.
