Recuerdos de maltrato infantil en maltratadores y potencial de maltrato en víctimas de maltrato físico y abuso sexual

Resumen

Se presentan dos investigaciones cuyo objetivo es conocer la frecuencia de recuerdos de maltrato infantil en maltratadores y el potencial de maltrato, atribución de causalidad y emociones experimentadas de los sujetos maltratados. En la primera investigación se evaluaron los recuerdos de maltrato físico y emocional en 341 sujetos de la población general y 165 maltratadores. En la segunda investigación se evaluaron los recuerdos de maltrato físico y abuso sexual y el potencial de maltrato en 826 estudiantes. En los sujetos víctimas de maltrato físico o abuso sexual (n = 62) se evaluaron la atribución de causalidad y las emociones experimentadas en relación con el maltrato. No se observan diferencias en la frecuencia de historia de maltrato físico y emocional entre los grupos de perpetradores de diferentes tipologías de maltrato infantil. Las víctimas de maltrato físico, en relación con las de abuso sexual, presentan un mayor potencial de maltrato. Las víctimas de maltrato físico recuerdan haber experimentado mayor rabia y tristeza y menor culpa y vergüenza frente a dichas situaciones traumáticas que las víctimas de abuso sexual.
