The objectives of the circular economy do not refer to continuing with a linear economythat reduces the consumption of resources and increases their recycling. Industrial symbiosis is the most ambitious objective of the circular economy since with it, waste fromone industry becomes resources for another different industry. To carry it out, researchis necessary to determine which waste is usable and in what way, innovation, long-termcooperation between companies from different industries, and new communicationexchange platforms. Despite all these challenges, currently the number of cases ofindustrial symbiosis is increasing considerably. This work analyses the situation of theIS in Spain and proposes new advances.
