Interdependencia estratégica en el proceso de difusión de nuevas tecnologías dentro de la empresa

Resumen

Este artículo analiza los mecanismos por los que las empresas son interdependientes en sus procesos de difusión intraempresa. Planteamos que la difusión intraempresa es diferente a la adopción inicial en lo que se refiere a los mecanismos a través de los que otras empresas influyen en el proceso. En lugar de los modelos de difusión epidémicos, proponemos un modelo basado en la interacción competitiva. Según éste, el despliegue tecnológico de los rivales aumenta el incentivo a difundir internamente la tecnología por la presión competitiva, pero también reduce este incentivo al disminuir la expectativa de beneficio. Contrastamos nuestro modelo con la difusión del cajero automático entre las cajas de ahorros españolas en el periodo 1986-2004.
